Before + After: Kitchen Stools

(Our Stratford apartment was finished with mostly second-hand furniture and DIY projects)

Maybe it's just because I am usually a little cash poor, but to me, there's nothing more satisfying than making something from nothing; or, as it usually goes in my case, making stylish furniture out of junk from the goodwill. Taking an old throw away chair or table and refinishing it myself allows me the luxury of furnishing my home with pieces that are exactly the colour and style that I want.

I'd like to share my 'up-cycle' or 're-do' projects with you in a series of 'before and afters'.

Here's the first one:

Two Kitchen Stools
Simple (boring) stools take on the numbers trend

I purchased these stools for $10 at a church yard sale.

The stools were simply stripped and refinished (seats only) and then updated with some flat black spray paint. It was a quick project that had a great pay-off.
